So, [livejournal.com profile] davidcook, would you and [livejournal.com profile] rwryslin and [livejournal.com profile] pickwick be up for that drive to the hills you suggested the other day? I'm thinking of going to Port Glasgow tomorrow or on Sunday. What would suit you better, if we actually make that trip?

In other news, here's a meme snagged from [livejournal.com profile] policegirl11. Come and play? )

Worldcon?

Wow. Just wow.

There's a proper con report in the works, promise, but I don't have enough online time right now to type it all up. Just let it be said that I had a blast, met heaps of wonderful people, and am addicted to cons forever and for good now.

Speaking of wonderful people, I figured this was the quickest way to get in touch with all of you still in Glasgow. How about we gang up some time tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and go visit the Science Centre? [livejournal.com profile] pickwick, [livejournal.com profile] davidcook, [livejournal.com profile] rwryslin and [livejournal.com profile] lordofthewheel--if you read this, please drop me a comment and let me know. (I'm missing you lot already. Let's do something about that?)

So that's how it goes. I forbid myself to update this thing for weeks on end because, heck, there's a presentation to plan, or a deadline to meet, or a horrible, horrible exam to prepare... and before I know it, it's going on Tuesday morning and my flight to Glasgow leaves in 14 hours.

Yep, I'm going to Worldcon 2005. Been happily obsessing over that since I got out of my exam on Saturday. I'm still boggled by the fact that I actually made it, because I got around to the details--booking flights and getting a con ticket and all that pesky stuff--only two weeks before the con. Big hugs and kudos go out to [livejournal.com profile] icedrake, without whose help I probably wouldn't have made it.

Still, I've never made a trip inviting desaster so much as this one. My flight ends at Manchester, so I have to catch a bus or a train from there up to Glasgow... In case I arrive there before Wednesday morning, I'll have to camp out in the station because I only have a bed at the hostel from the 3rd to the 8th... but then, it's not likely I'll arrive before 5 am on the 3rd or so. After the 8th, I'll probably have to move, since I'm staying in Scotland until the 16th--might as well make worth it. But I'm strangely confident. I blame it on the rucksack I got. I've been wanting one like this for years, and I firmly believe that with the right rucksack you can do anything.

Strangely enough, after an age and a half of not updating, there is nothing much to tell. I can think of a great many things that might make a good entry, but I can't cram all of them into this one. So this is it for today.

See you all in two weeks!
